There is a particular kind of afternoon — grey outside, warm inside, nothing urgent asking for you — that a certain kind of book is made for. Ours are made for that afternoon.

Which is why we take our time. Artemis Publishing works closely with its authors from first draft to final proof, favoring voice and continuity over output. A good editor is a form of respect, not an obstacle, and a cozy mystery deserves the same craft as anything else on a shelf. We would rather publish less, well, than more, quickly.
